About SwissLLC
SwissLLC publishes plain-English guides to starting and running a business in Switzerland. Whether you are a founder choosing between a GmbH and an AG, a freelancer registering a sole proprietorship, or a foreign entrepreneur planning a move, we explain the steps, the costs and the official rules in one place.
Why this site exists
Switzerland is one of the world's most attractive places to do business, but the information is spread across federal, cantonal and municipal websites, often in German, French or Italian. We bring it together, explain it simply and link you straight to the official source so you can check the details yourself.
What we cover
- Company Formation — legal forms, registration in the commercial register, share capital and setup costs.
- Tax & Accounting — corporate and income tax, VAT, bookkeeping and annual accounts.
- Banking & Finance — business bank accounts, capital deposits, payments and funding.
- Permits & Relocation — work and residence permits and setting up as a foreign founder.
- Hiring & Employment — employment contracts, salaries and social insurance.
- Cantons & Locations — how cantons and cities compare as places to do business.
- Running a Business — insurance, compliance, contracts and everyday operations.
Who is behind the site
SwissLLC is founded and edited by Amos Hope Jnr. Amos Hope Jnr is a digital media strategist and publisher who has been creating content since 2014. He founded SwissLLC to explain, in plain English, how to set up and run a company in Switzerland, using official Swiss sources.
SwissLLC is an independent publication. We are not a law firm, a tax adviser, a bank, a company-formation agent or a government body, and we are not affiliated with any Swiss authority.
How we work
Every guide is original writing, researched against official Swiss sources such as the federal government's portals for companies and citizens, the Federal Tax Administration, the commercial register and cantonal authorities. We link to those sources in each guide, we date our updates, and we correct mistakes openly. Read our full Editorial Policy.
Rules, fees and tax rates change. Our guides are general information, not legal or tax advice; for your own situation, please speak to a qualified Swiss professional. See our Disclaimer.
Advertising
SwissLLC is free to read. To keep it that way, we show advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense. Advertisers never influence what we write. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
