SwissLLC

Editorial Policy

Last updated: November 4, 2026

SwissLLC exists to give accurate, practical and independent information about doing business in Switzerland. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

Original work

Everything we publish is written for SwissLLC. We do not copy articles from other sites or publish automatically generated or "spun" content. When we quote someone, we keep quotes short, attribute them and link to the source.

Official sources first

Swiss rules are set at federal, cantonal and municipal level. We base our guides on primary sources: federal laws, the official portals of the Swiss government, the Federal Tax Administration, the commercial registers, social insurance bodies and cantonal authorities. Where cantons differ, we say so, and we link to the official page wherever possible.

Accuracy and updates

Fees, tax rates, thresholds and procedures change. Each guide shows the date it was published, and we add an "Updated" date when we revise it. If a figure is approximate or varies by canton, we say so instead of giving false precision.

Not professional advice

Our guides explain how things generally work. They are not legal, tax or financial advice for your situation. When a decision has legal or tax consequences, we encourage readers to consult a qualified professional in Switzerland.

Independence

Advertising helps fund the site, but advertisers have no say over our content. We do not accept payment to recommend a bank, provider or adviser. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, it will be clearly labelled.

Images

We only use images we created, have licensed, or that are under a licence that allows reuse. We do not use the Swiss flag, the Swiss cross or official coats of arms in our branding.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly. Report an error through our Contact page, ideally with a link to the official source.
